Christian Nolsøe is professor of interventional and surgical ultrasound at Institute for Clinical Medicine, University of Copenhagen, and Consultant at Dep of Surgery, Centre for Surgical Ultrasound, Zealand University Hospital, Køge.
By education he is a board-certified radiologist with subspecialty in ultrasound and holds a PhD in ultrasound guided tissue ablation from University of Copenhagen in 1996. He has co-authored over 130 peer-reviewed scientific articles and abstracts and taught more than 350 lectures worldwide.
He is Past-President of the World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB) and past President of both European ultrasound federation (EFSUMB) and Danish ultrasound Society (DSDU). He was Co-President of both the 2019 and 2011 ultrasound World congresses, WFUMB 2011 Vienna and WFUMB 2019 Melbourne, Co-chair of the Scientific Program Committee for the 2015 world congress in Orlando WFUMB/AIUM 2015 and secretary for the 1991 world congress in Copenhagen WFUMB 1991 plus organizer for numerous international and Danish ultrasound congresses and courses.
He is proudly honorary member of the Australasian, Korean and American medical ultrasound societies i.e. ASUM, KSUM and AIUM.
His fields of research and interest center on ultrasound in its broadest sense with peak expertise on interventional and surgical US including TRUS in anal and rectal disease, tissue ablation, ultrasound contrast, Image fusion, POCUS and medical student education plus ultrasound in developing countries.
