Professor Carmel Moran is Professor of Translational Ultrasound in the Centre for Cardiovascular Science, University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. She is a physicist and her research ha centred around the applications of high frequency ultrasound in preclinical imaging. She has specific expertise in the use of ultrasonic contrast microbubbles for diagnosis and therapy, the development of phantoms to measure the performance of both clinical and preclinical ultrasound scanners and the application of high frequency ultrasound for preclinical ultrasound studies.
Professor Moran is currently Chair of the Safety committee of the World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology.
