Valentina Dini received her Medical degree (2000) and her Residency (2005) in Dermatology at the University of Pisa, where she doctorated in Immunology and Technology of Transplantation in 2009, also she completed a fellowship in wound healing at the Wound Healing Research Unit of University of Miami in 2006 and at the European Academy of Wound Technology (Elancourt, France) in 2008. She was a researcher at University of Pisa from 2014 to 2019. Currently, she is Associate Professor at the department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine of the University of Pisa since 2019. She is a council member of the European Wound Management Association (EWMA) and one of the founders of the International Society of Cutaneous Ultrasound (ISCU)
The major part of her activities was focused on setting up her laboratory of non-invasive diagnostic techniques for wound and skin assessment including high frequency ultrasound. Efforts of her laboratory continue to be focused on all aspects of translational research in wound healing and chronic inflammatory diseases (pyoderma gangrenosum, hidradenitis suppurativa, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis).
