Prof. Dr. Cem Yücel was born in Trabzon, Türkiye in 1968. He had completed his medical training at Hacettepe University School of Medicine in 1991. Between 1991-1996 he had his residency training at Gazi University School of Medicine, Department of Radiology. In 1999, he started to study at the same department as an instructor. In 2002, he became Associate Professor of Radiology and in 2007 he got the tittle of Professor of Radiology. During his work period in the university, he was the chief of the Ultrasonography and Non-Vascular Interventional Radiology Sections. He had retired from Gazi University in 2022 and continuing his practice in his private clinic of Ultrasonography and Interventional Radiology. He is the chairman of the Society of Medical Ultrasonography, Türkiye. He has 42 international papers mainly focused in new technologies in ultrasound and ultrasound-guided interventions. He is one of the pioneers of ablative procedures in Türkiye and gave educations in this field in different countries such as Kazakhstan, Egypt and Azerbaijan. He is the member of ESR (European Society of Radiology), EFSUMB (European Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology), CIRSE (Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiologogical Society of Europe), TRD (Turkish Society of Radiology) and TUD (Society of Medical Ultrasonography, Türkiye)
