Born in Genoa (GE), Italy. After a training in Medical biophysics, He graduated in Medicine and completed the Residency in Radiology at the University of Genoa. Married with two daughters, he served as visiting Fellow at the Hammersmith Hospital of London in 2001. He is serving as chief or Multiparametric Ultrasound and associate professor of radiology at the University of Trieste, IT.
He currently devotes most of his time to clinical practice as senior consultant in genitourinary radiology. He obtained the level III European Diploma in Urogenital Radiology (EDiUR).
President of the European Society of Urogenital Radiology (ESUR), past chair of the ESUR Scrotal and Penile Imaging working Group, Vice-President of Italian Society of Integrated Diagnostics in Urology, Andrology Nephrology (SIEUN).
Honorary fellow of the Asian Society of Abdominal Radiology. Member of the ESUR Contrast Media Safety Committee, and EDiUR examination team.

His research activity is documented by 220 full papers, 88 book chapters and 4 books. Invited speaker to more than 550 National and International meetings.
